WTTD 2022 Promoter Call Opens

The ITTF Foundation is looking for enthusiastic organisers to help us further promote WTTD 2022. Applications for the Promoter Initiative are open from October 6 to December 6, 2021.

World Table Tennis Day (WTTD) is back! The annual celebration on April 6 since 2015 also marks the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace. WTTD has established itself as a symbol of social inclusiveness and the day on which we celebrate our favourite sport.

WTTD 2022: Ping Pong Diplomacy

WTTD 2022 focuses on Ping Pong Diplomacy and contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.

We celebrate the 50th biennial anniversary of Ping Pong Diplomacy with WTTD 2022. This is a unique opportunity to showcase how table tennis can serve as a tool to create dialogue, assist with peaceful conflict transformation and diplomacy on both grassroots and state level. Under the motto “Peace on the Table”, WTTD 2022 seeks to reconcile, create dialogues, and build bridges around table tennis tables everywhere.

Want to become one of our Promoters?

We are looking for 25 passionate organisers who want to take their WTTD event to the next level. The Promoters are expected to actively promote the spirit of WTTD and Ping Pong Diplomacy in their community, country, or territory. By addressing a local conflict, working on improving the situation and bringing divided parties together using table tennis, the Promoters will showcase how our sport can drive positive social change.

The ITTF Foundation will provide guidance, tools, certificate and financial support (EUR 750.-) for the selected Promoters in organising and conducting of their event on April 6, 2022.

We look forward to receiving your application!
