World Table Tennis Day 2026–2027 Theme Announced: Celebrating Health & Well-Being!

We are almost halfway to the next World Table Tennis Day, and the ITTF Foundation is thrilled to announce the new theme for the upcoming two years: Health & Well-Being!

This theme will guide not only the next two editions of World Table Tennis Day (2026 and 2027) but also shape the overarching direction of the ITTF Foundation’s work and the shared vision of the entire ITTF Group family. It is also the second time that the celebration’s theme will extend across two years, underlining its importance and impact.

Health & Well-Being at the Core

Since its inception, Health & Well-Being has been one of the ITTF Foundation’s central commitments. Through the TT4Health programme and initiative such as the World Table Tennis for Health Festival, we have demonstrated how table tennis can improve lives, supporting physical activity, enhancing mental health, and strengthening social bonds.

This new theme builds on that foundation, highlighting the transformative power of table tennis in people’s health. Beyond being a fun and accessible sport, table tennis inspires movement, builds mental resilience, and brings people together, fosters well-being across physical, mental, and social dimensions.

From now on, we aim to expand our efforts, advance our initiatives, and raise even greater awareness of the role table tennis can play in creating healthier, happier communities worldwide.

A Global Call to Action: #TTMovesYou

To amplify this message, the ITTF Foundation is launching the campaign #TTMovesYou, celebrating table tennis not just as a game but as a global movement for healthier bodies and stronger minds.

On 23 April 2026, we invite everyone to come together around the table and celebrate the joy of movement. No matter who you are or where you play, World Table Tennis Day is your chance to show that #TTMovesYou!

Momentum Already Accumulating

Anticipation for World Table Tennis Day 2026 is on the rise, with thousands of participants and organisers across the globe expected to join in. On the day, we will showcase how table tennis can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives and promote well-being for all.

Stay tuned for more updates by subscribing to our newsletter and following us on our social media channels. Let’s make 2026 and 2027 a powerful celebration of Health & Well-Being through table tennis!

About World Table Tennis Day

Since 2015, World Table Tennis Day (WTTD) has been an annual celebration held in April. It is a day dedicated to honouring table tennis and recognising the universal values the sport embodies. Celebrated on April 23, WTTD pays tribute to Ivor Montagu, the organiser of the first World Table Tennis Championships in 1926 and the founder and initial president of the ITTF.

WTTD is a celebration of the joy of playing table tennis for fun, fostering connections among people, with a focus on participation, health and enjoyment rather than competition.
