ITTF Foundation presence at the 28th TAFISA World Congress

The 28th TAFISA World Congress recently took place in Düsseldorf, where over 350 participants from 70 countries came to meet and exchange ideas about Sport for ALL. This year’s theme was "Sport for All: More Together than Ever." The congress focused on promoting unity and cooperation to enhance the benefits of sports globally.

INTERACT+ Partner Meeting

The ITTF Foundation was present among the partners to discuss and share updates about the INTERACT + project. TAFISA provided updates on project management emphasizing the newly published INTERACT+ forum. Work packages were presented by partners, including insights from the ITTF Foundation. The first INTERACT+ Capacity Building workshop is scheduled for December 7-8, 2023, in Linz, Austria.

TAFISA World Congress

On the first day, the Congress featured regional meetings and a welcome dinner, where discussions on "Sport for All" were complemented by artistic performances. On the second day, it included the Opening Ceremony, Plenary Sessions, Press Conference, and a House-of-Commons-Debate, addressing the role of sports in fostering social cohesion. Following that day, the congress involved educational field trips showcasing German sports facilities and a Table Tennis Showcase. The Congress concluded with Day four focusing on climate change impact on sports and its potential role in fostering peace. Various action frameworks aligned with the TAFISA Mission 2030 were presented by IOC, WHO, DOSB, and TAFISA. A "Call to Action" was agreed upon, pressing concerted efforts across governments, private sector, media, NGOs, and institutions.
