Generous support for #TableTennisUnited from Singapore

In these difficult times it is a relief to know that heroes are all around us. The Singapore Table Tennis Association's latest actions prove they house a special bunch of heroes too.

By promoting our motto Solidarity through Table Tennis, it is a new and wonderful inspiration that Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA) donated SGD 2,000 (roughly EUR 1,300) to #TableTennisUnited (TTU), a unique fundraising campaign to face Covid-19 powered by us, the ITTF Foundation, and supported by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and World Table Tennis.

This great support from STTA is another move in the right direction from them, as they boosted the importance of working together in these tough times.

Ellen Lee, the president of STTA, has been outspoken regarding the need for such a contribution to help everyone in need through our sport’s solidarity:

“The table tennis family is severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and this fundraising initiative #TableTennisUnited campaign spearheaded by ITTF is indeed valuable and necessary. We are grateful for ITTF’s vision and feel strongly compelled to help support your good cause. The STTA hopes that our small donation will be of assistance towards your good cause to support the athletes, coaches, umpires, national associations and field projects who are all in need of a helping hand in these difficult times. We are confident that your efforts are greatly appreciated not only by me but by many members of the table tennis fraternity. Thank you for your courage and vision. Please keep up the good work’’ Ellen Lee, STTA President

We thank Ellen and the entire Singapore Table Tennis Association for their generous act, and we are sure this contribution will prove a very important step in contributing to the achievement of the #TableTennisUnited campaign’s goals.
