Dream Building Fund 2023: Shortlisted Candidates Announced!
The ITTF Foundation is excited to unveil the shortlisted candidates for the 4th call of the Dream Building Fund (DBF) powered by The Foundation for Global Sports Development (GSD), marking a significant milestone in our commitment to fostering positive change through sport for development!
In this latest DBF application cycle, we were thrilled to receive an overwhelming response, with a total of 177 applications pouring in from 64 different countries and territories. Following a meticulous evaluation and selection process conducted by our expert jury specialising in sport for development, we are proud to announce a shortlist of 18 outstanding candidate projects that have demonstrated remarkable potential.
These projects have been selected based on stringent eligibility criteria, including the context of the project, quality of project design, implementation proposal, impact, dissemination, and sustainability of the project. The 18 selected projects not only meet these criteria but also showcase a deep commitment to bringing about positive change in local communities through the power of table tennis. Furthermore, these projects align seamlessly with our yearly theme of "Diversity & Inclusion".
The diversity of the shortlisted candidates is evident on multiple fronts: hailing from 17 countries and territories (9 from Africa, 6 from Asia, 2 from Europe, 1 from the Americas), applied in 3 different languages, and targeting various UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The Changemaker Grand Final, the decisive event to determine the final DBF recipients, is scheduled to take place online on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024. During this event, the shortlisted candidates will present their projects, followed by a Q&A session with a distinguished selection panel comprising 8 highly knowledgeable experts and professionals with extensive experience in leveraging table tennis for positive social development outcomes, diversity, and inclusion.
The ITTF Foundation extends heartfelt appreciation to all applicants who showcased their dedication. We extend congratulations to the 2023 DBF qualified applicants for reaching the Grand Final and offer sincere wishes for success during their final presentations.
