Dates Announced for the 2026 World Table Tennis for Health Festival: A New Chapter in Asia

The ITTF Foundation is thrilled to officially announce that the 2026 World Table Tennis for Health Festival (WTT4HF) will take place from 20–25 October 2026 in Shanghai, China.

For the first time in its history, the Festival is heading to Asia and taking place in one of the world's great table tennis cities. Together with the Chinese Table Tennis Association (CTTA) and Shanghai Sports Federation, we are delighted to share this exciting news and begin the journey toward the 4th edition of the Festival.

Enhancing the Event Experience for the Growing Global Momentum

The previous edition in Sweden saw a total of 189 participants from 23 countries and territories come together, making it the largest edition to date. The growing international participation reflects this broader movement and a shared belief in the positive impact table tennis can have on health and well-being.

This year in Shanghai, we hope to continue this momentum and welcome even more participants and communities from around the world, further showcasing the expanding role of table tennis in addressing neurodegenerative diseases and creating meaningful global connections and friendships.

To enhance the participant experience and strengthen the sense of community throughout the event, the 2026 Festival will introduce two important developments:

1. Pre-Event Training Camp (17–18 Oct, with arrival day on 16 Oct)

A new exciting addition for this Shanghai edition is a Pre-Event Training Camp, created especially for participants travelling long distances.

Recognising that many participants will be coming from across continents and different time zones, the camp will take place on 17-18 October and help attendees prepare physically and comfortably before the Festival officially begins.

At the training camp, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Adapt to time differences and recover from jet lag
  • Rest after long-distance travel
  • Train with local players and coaches

The camp aims to ensure participants arrive at the Festival feeling refreshed and prepared ahead of the competitions and activities. Registration for the training camp will open soon alongside the official Festival registration.

2. Official Package Registration

For the first time, participation in the Festival will only be available through the official package system. This means that participants will not be able to register separately and arrange accommodation independently.

This approach will simplify logistics and ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants, while providing all services at an optimised price.

The official package will include:

  • Registration for the Championships, Congress, and Healthy Side Activities
  • Airport transfers between Shanghai airports and the official accommodation
  • Transportation between the official accommodation and Festival venues
  • Accommodation
  • Three meals per day (including lunch and dinner on arrival day, and breakfast on departure day)
  • Access to the Field of Play and Players’ Lounge
  • Wi-Fi access in the hotel and venues

This time, the official package will also provide several new additions:

  • Guided visits to the ITTF and CTTA Museums
  • Access to the Fun Park Zone
  • Farewell Party

Detailed package pricing and registration information will be shared in the official prospectus, which will be released when registrations open by the end of June 2026.
